Spring

Mild crowds, warm enough to swim by May. Peak shelling season and excellent fishing. The island is green and fresh with a quieter pace that regulars love.

Peak dolphin season. Warm ocean, long days, and buzzing local restaurants. The island is at its most alive. Book well in advance and expect Saturday changeovers.

Fall

Our secret season. Warm water, cooler air, almost no crowds. The October light on the water is extraordinary. Often the best value and the most peaceful time to visit.

How to Reach Emerald Isle

The island is accessible by car via two bridges, a dramatic arrival that signals vacation has officially begun.

Driving

Most guests drive in. The island is roughly 3 hours from the Raleigh-Durham area and 2 hours from Wilmington. Follow NC-58 across the Emerald Isle Bridge.

Flying In
